Description: The Captain’s Pale Ale is a medium bodied American pale ale. We used four varieties of hops from the Pacific Northwest region to give this beer a strong, spicy bitterness with a smooth finish. Hints of grapefruit from the hops lend a little sweetness to the taste, which is also complimented by a grassy nose. This beer has quite a strong flavor at first, but once you start drinking it, it’s hard to stop.

The Name: Our Captain’s Pale Ale is Slow Boat’s flagship beer. It was named after the captain of the battleship USS Hamilton, who was commonly seen off duty wearing a Hawaiian shirt, as demonstrated on this beer’s logo.
