Monkey’s Fist IPA

Hints of mango, subtle malts notes, and a small bite of bitterness

Monkey’s Fist IPA

Monkey's Fist Mango IPA

Description: Our Monkey’s Fist Mango IPA is the first IPA we’ve made, and it was so popular after the first brew that we’ve added it to our core production schedule. The beer combines five different types of malts to give the beer a sweeter malt flavor. Two types of hops were used to add the slightest taste of bitterness, and copious amounts of Citra hops provide the mango nose on the beer. This beer is continuously hopped to bring out extra flavor from the hops, and later dry hopped to produce the fruity nose.

The Name: Legend has it that the boats that sailed to India, first carrying IPAs across the world, usually had a monkey on board, and the monkeys were infamous for trying to snag pints of beer with their little fists.

India Pale Ale (IPA): First brewed in England to export to the colonies in India, and distinguished by a heavy use of hops and higher alcohol content used as preservatives to keep the beer fresh during the long journey to India.
