Dogwatch 1600 Wheat

An American style wheat beer

Dogwatch 1600 Wheat

Dogwatch 1600 WheatDescription: Our Dogwatch 1600 Wheat is an American style wheat beer, using a half malt and half wheat mix to create the base of the beer. The malt and wheat both give this beer mild flavors, while the yeast brings out sweeter, smooth tones in the taste. Characteristic of all of our beers, Pacific Northwest hops were added to our wheat beer to give it a subtle spice flavor to compliment the sweet yeast notes. Some people taste hints of orange and smell a slight bubblegum nose on the beer. Try it yourself and let us know what you think!

The Name: Dogwatch refers to a work shift on a nautical vessel between the hours of 1600 and 2000 and is also a shorter shift than most. During a typical dogwatch shift, sailors might end their shift with a pint of beer to relax themselves before the dinner hour.

Wheat Beer: Wheat beers are made using a large quantity of wheat as the base instead of only using malted barley. Hop flavor and aroma are lower in this type of beer with the wheat providing most of the flavor in the beer.
