The newest event at the Taproom kicks off this Saturday, and it’s one you won’t want to miss! Starting Saturday April 13th, we’ll be hosting a season long promotion – Batiao Burgers and Brews! On Satrudays from 2-6pm, get a pitcher of delicious beer for 60RMB when you order one of our juicy 1/3 pound burgers. A big burger and a cold pitcher of beer – what more could you ask for to have a perfect Saturday afternoon?

Knot 51 Red Ale now added to the lineup

Our red ale is back after a long hiatus, and this time it’s reincarnated as the Knot 51 Red Ale! In the red ale tradition, this beer boasts a rich malt profile and hints of caramel to sweeten the taste a little. Low in hop flavors, this beer has a smooth taste and is sure to please anyone who likes that malty goodness. Come by and try a pint or a pitcher tonight!

Every Sunday from 2pm
Cheese, meet beer. Beer, meet cheese. Join us on Sunday and enjoy French-style cheeses from Le Fromager de Pekin paired with our specialty craft beer. Don’t settle for Kraft cheese; eat craft cheese. If it’s Sunday, eat cheese. That’s something people say, right?

Come to the Slow Boat Brewery Taproom for our first weekend brunch accompanied by our own special Beermosas, a mimosa with a splash of our Dogwatch 1600 Wheat. We’ll be serving a delicious brunch menu with Beermosas (and regular mimosas for non-beer drinkers) this Sunday so you can get your brunch fix and kick your Saturday night hangover in the butt.

St. Paddy’s Day Weekend @ Slow Boat Brewery Taproom: 3 Days of Rowdy Irish Fun

Day 1: Irish Song Sing-a-Long

Friday March 15^th, 8pm

Who doesn’t love rowdy Irish drinking songs? To get you excited for St. Paddy’s Day, we’ll be playing Irish drinking songs all night at the Taproom and giving you the lyrics so you can sing-a-long! We’ll have our Friday Brats & Brews deal all night, so stop by for food and stay to sing (and drink) -a-long! We’ll have our own St. Paddy’s Day Stout pouring all night, so be the first to try our tasty stout made especially for this weekend!

Day 2: Saturday St. Paddy’s Day

Saturday March 16^th, 2pm

Saturday is St. Paddy’s Day at Slow Boat Brewery! Come to the Taproom and order with an Irish accent to get 25 kuai pints of our St. Paddy’s Day Stout! Or come dressed from head to toe in green (and we mean full body!), and we’ll give you a free pitcher of beer! We’ll be doing Irish car bombs with our St. Paddy’s Day Stout all day long, and we’ll also be blasting Irish music to make you feel like you’re in the middle of downtown Dublin. There will also be plenty of Jameson to go around for all you truly Irish folks.

Day 3: St. Paddy’s Day Brunch

To help you nurse your hangover or prepare for the long day of drinking ahead, start your day off with a St. Paddy’s Day brunch at the Slow Boat Brewery Taproom. We’ll be serving up our tasty brunch plate accompanied by our Irish Coffee Porter (Coffee Porter and Jameson), and traditional Irish coffee will be available as well.

We know how many of you have stolen our pint glasses (don’t lie!), but tonight, we’re turning a blind eye to your thievery. On the third Thursday of every month, Slow Boat will be giving away free pints glasses with your second draft beer. Limited to one glass per person until supplies last. First come first serve so don’t be late!

Masskrugstemmen is back!! If you missed out on it last month, here’s your chance to claim your title as Beijing’s Masskrugstemmen champion!! In case you haven’t caught on yet, Masskrugstemmen is a German beer mug holding competition that we’ve brought to the mean streets of Beijing. Buy one beer to enter the contest, and whoever can hold a mug of beer in front of them with arm outstretched for the longest amount of time will win 2 liters of beer!

Jack Tar Scottish Ale has arrived

The long awaited Jack Tar Scottish Ale is finally here!! The Scottish Ale completes our winter line up of beers and adds a lighter addition to the group for people who like a dark beer that’s not too heavy. The Jack Tar has rich flavors of malts and brown sugar but leaves your mouth with a dry finish. A less hoppy beer than it’s English counterpart, the pale ale, this beer will do well for anyone who enjoys a malty beer with less bitterness.

Cheese Plates now available EVERY Sunday

Starting this weekend, we’re bringing back our cheese plate and beer flight pair on Sundays!! People have been begging for cheese and beer pairing since the first weekend it was available, so now we’ll have cheese plates paired with beer flights for 100RMB EVERY SUNDAY afternoon. Don’t spend your Sunday laying around on the couch; get up and come to the Slow Boat Brewery Taproom and enjoy some tasty cheeses paired with craft beers!

Cheese will be provided by, Beijing’s best gourmet cheese provider.

Stuck in Beijing for Chinese New Year this year? Well so are we! And we’ll be open the entire week to help you drink away the cold winter days! While most restaurants will close their doors, we’ll be open for regular hours and will have the same weekday events as every other week. On Saturday December 15th, we opened the doors of the new Slow Boat Brewery Taproom to serve beer to all our loyal followers and many newcomers, and everyone had a great time trying out the full range of Slow Boat brews!! A big thanks to everyone who came out to the opening! We still had construction workers finishing up door frames and hanging mirrors on walls, but we managed to serve everyone tasty beer while our workers kept at it. We’re looking forward to opening up full time on Saturday December 22nd, and in the mean time, here are some photos from our eventful soft opening:

Buy one beer to enter the contest, and the winner will get one giant mug of whichever Slow Boat beer he/she chooses and bragging rights until next month’s competition.

Come discover how well beer pairs with cheese all afternoon at the Slow Boat Brewery Taproom. As Slow Boat was founded on the idea of making high quality, hand made brews, we love to work with other artisans who put the same effort into their work. Two artisans will be brought together today with cheese provided from Fromage de Peking, and special cheese plates paired with Slow Boat beers will be available all afternoon.

Beer Tasting Contest: Give Your Taste Buds a Whirl
Thursday January 24^th, 8pm
Come test your beer tasting skills with a tasting contest on Thursday night! Participants will be given five different samples to try, and whoever correctly identifies the most beers within a given time limit will be Slow Boat Beer Tasting Champion! 50 RMB entry fee, includes five 200mL samples. The winner receives a pitcher of Slow Boat beer and the moniker of Beer Champion of the world (if the world were a tiny neighborhood of Dongcheng, Beijing).
